The Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy

Folkecenter is situated in Sdr. Ydby, a small village in the Thy peninsular, overlooking the scenic landscapes around the Limfjord in the North Western Jutland of Denmark where windmills are seen in whatever direction you look. The region of Thy has since 1975 in practice been pioneering renewable energy technologies for the local supply. For more than a decade private windmills, farm-biogas and biomass combustion have covered the energy needs of the region providing new income and prosperity with a better environment for the local residents.
